Now let's just hope Obama can really do what he says and bring ALL OF US together...Democrats, Independents, AND Republicans!
What an amazing night!

Fuck, I'd hug Bill O'Reilly at this point!

Talk later- gonna watch his acceptance speech!

The next big battle ground is the School Boards of the US where some members haven't even passed high school let alone higher education.

  10. I've been following the election, and I'm subscribed to your RSS feed. I know the man will make decisions and not be simply a figure head that I've come to understand a president to be since Polical Science class in High School. I hope he makes the decisions that will not only help unite the country but solve some of the problems the way a logical person would. Congradulation America

  11. Oh I almost forgot, a few posts ago you asked what the next generation divide will be. You know once we get pasted race, color, and even culture.

  19. The only thing that really pisses me off is that people are saying America isn't racist any more because we have a black president. How fucking ignorant can you be. There's a bigger bad side to politics than the good side, the bad side is that all of the dumb asses seem to chose this topic to talk about.

  20. from the rest of the world to America, all i have to say is, congratulations on the first step.

David, you are right about one thing. Lets hope he does keep his word. If he doesn't, I'm going to rip on him senselessly and it will be on anyone who voted for him.

You know, I thought about posting a proper, logical response to this increadibly defeatist, sad comment, but instead I'll just say "eat my balls".

"Lets hope he does keep his word. If he doesn't, I'm going to rip on him senselessly and it will be on anyone who voted for him."

for believing that this country has the potential to be better than what we are now, and voting for a man who said would help us get there? regardless if he does or doesn't, you can't fault people for wanting a better life for themselves.

Obama . . . I'm elated about one thing, what it means about racism in America. Obviously racism still exists, but at the same time, what does this say about the alleged glass ceiling? If you can be black and President, surely there are no limits.

As for politics, how can we POSSIBLY know what to expect? Look, it's not like McCain handled it any differently, but he's out of the picture now so I don't have to be unbiased. Basically all Obama did was say, "Look, I'll do everything, everything! A stuffed turkey in every kitchen! Most importantly, I'll give everyone who doesn't have money money! Hear that America? I'm going to give you money!"

I'm hoping what he can really offer and what his real plans are have a great deal more sense, substance, and plausibility.

  27. Yeah, but Bill O'Loofa would shank you if you did.

All I can say is THANK YOU AMERICA for repudiating - by a 2:1 margin - the failed, backward, hateful politics of the rightwing.

  28. Let's face it, he can never measure up to the hype, but the GOP needed a good hard kick in the ass, and he'll have a hard time doing worse than the last 8 years of Cheney-vision.

Glad that the often repeated maxim that a black man could never be elected President can be consigned to the scrapheap.

Hopefully the world will start to remeber all the things they used to love about America and let the image of an intolerant, far-right, warmongering, insular nation slip away, and recognise there was always a better America frustrated and in the background.

  29. so, when OB screws up the country, will you be just as critical of him as you were of bush? doubtful...

    Keep it up!
And congratulations to Obama, although I'm not American I was happy to see that he won, obviously!

I am skeptical about his speech. Still it makes sense to me that a man who is half black, half white, whose white mother raised him yet has embraced his black side, look at his wife for example, just may have the will to work towards a truly united nation.

I heard that Obama won at the end of the Indecision '08 special on Comedy Central! I didn't believe it at first. I had to check all of the other stations to make sure it was right.
