THE TWISTED METAL THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN...

Over the years- be it working for a publisher or working for a developer- we'd often make videos for 'green light meetings'. These are meetings where company execs from various departments (product development, marketing, sales, etc.) get together to review the company's upcoming slate. Sometimes an actual green light is given or denied based on the meeting, but more often than not it's called a 'green light meeting' but it's more of a global review so everyone gets on the same page.

This is one such video that we made for Twisted Metal. It shows a number of variations on the modes, UI, and gameplay that ultimately made it into the final version of PS3 Twisted Metal.

Watching this I have a few thoughts:

a-I miss CHASE TO VEGAS tons...really wanted that to work but there just was not time :(...

b- Man we tried a thousand different HUD/UI (User Interface) configs as well as a shite ton of weapon power up visuals...

c- forgive my performance but a) if I recall I was getting over a cold and b) I was a little too 'Up With People' for my own liking :)...

Hope you dig this peek behind the curtain! Talk soon-

David

  2. I REALLY REALLY want to buy the New Twisted Metal, but I have a Launch PS3? And I have been hearing horror stories of the Launch PS3's systems bricking, or the game just not working on them! Of course Sony Tech support just sends me to the forums, and I am tired of getting the run around, So I was hoping to get it out of the horses mouth so so speak?

So Safe to buy TM for my Launch PS3 or not?

  4. why didn't this level of destruction made it to the game? its awesome how the tower collapses and can be used as a bridge that could have been used a lot on nuke games as strategic points

  5. I would love to see the lost ending if you could re-upload it again!!

@darkkuja2 That level is Watkyn's Harbour, and you CAN shoot does those towers to make bridges :) It allows easier accessibility to mega guns, sniper rifles etc!

Don't buy it. It will probably crash your PS3 and, once you open the game, you can't get a refund. I will never buy anything produced by these people EVER again. I just want my money back now. It's been 2 months and I haven't been able to play AT ALL!

  7. I can't return the game to the retailer because I had to open to find out that it crashes my system. Sony says I must get my money back from the retailer who, like I just said, will not refund my money. David Jaffe is an idiot. I don't know why I was even told that he would be a person to talk to about this situation. He doesn't seem to understand anything about the game, other than how to play it. I could ask a 10 year old about that. I think it is time to file a class action lawsuit.

  8. Sucks there will be no DLC. I would totally pay $5-10 for that "Chase to Vegas Mode".

  9. Jaffe could you please consider adding bots to 3-4 player split screen. If you guys can't I will understand.

  10. ...Mr. Jaffe....destructible TERRAIN? In addition to the Vegas thing you missed?

Come on - DLC! 1 extra map and mode! For a life-long Twisted Metal fan's (since I was 6-7) birthday in July...?
