PEEP MY SCHWAG!

Slammed with work and stomach flu. Wanted to share pics of some of my newest office mates real quick tho :)
Got my Doctor Who Tardis in the mail the other day! :) And that's my BEFORE YOU QUIT YOUR JOB book on the right, by the way. Read that to assuage my fears before I left Sony (after a 13+ year run). Didn't help. Was still scared shitless. :)

Damn thing even opens up, lights up, makes cool sounds, etc.  Used to think Doc Who was so stupid (a dude flies around in a Police Public Call Box?!? What?!?!)...now I can't get enough of it. Downloaded the soundtrack to work to a few days back as well :)

LOVE Darksiders! Love the character of War! Love the whole world and art style of the game! Thanks to lead designer Haydn Dalton and comic book super star (and Darksiders Creative Director) Joe Madureira for the super neat signed Darksiders schwag!

Ok, gonna work till I pass out or vomit. Lots of work over the weekend so I hope I sleep this damn bug off. Later ya'll! Have a great weekend! Part of me wants to see the new NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (I LOVE Freddy and that series in general) but I hear it sucks. :( But hell, it's a horror movie. What, I expect Oscar nominations? Freddy is like pizza anyway. ANY Freddy is good Freddy...altho I do not dig this new dude playing him...but I'll give him a chance. He rocked in Little Children.

David

  1. Just got back from nightmare on elm street this morning. Went to the midnight release but they wouldn't let my brother in who is 18 because he didn't have ID on him......bastards, not getting anymore of my money. It was an ok movie, not fantastic or anything. No one can top Robert Englund! But seriously, pretty much every word harely said I'd have flasbacks of rorschach in the watchmen lol.

Atleast it will tide me over till Ironman 2 next week!!!!!!!!!

  4. Quick question I'd love to get your opinion on - who do you think would win a fight of Kratos vs. War?

Regardless of the outcome, I think it'd be epic lol Anyways, nice schwag, take her easy.

  7. Lol your really got into Dr Who,You've probably looked into the history but it's been on here since 1963.I only remember the stuff from the late 80's.but have seen older episodes.
One episode stood out,and I think it's why spiders freak me out now. They did this 80 foot Taranchula in one episode,it was video imposed over the live footage, and being 6 I shat myself,Before that I loved spiders,i'd keep them as pets and stuff, but since then I hate them :)

  8. Don't know if you've seen Iron Man 2 yet, but it is fucking brilliant.

It's got to be the best superhero film ever made, well second best, still not as good as The Dark Knight in my opinion.

  9. @ DuckOfDestiny

I'd have to argue that even though it wasn't critically or financially as well accepted as the Dark Knight, that Watchmen is the greatest comic book film of all time.

Don't get me wrong, I still loved TDK, and even the first Iron Man (tripping balls waiting for the second one), but I really feel like Watchmen is extremely under appreciated.

Although, this is really none of my business - but still, felt like I had to throw in my two cents - game on! lol

  10. OMG! I felt the same way about the new freddy. The original Freddy was born for the part. My friend told me the new Freddy was 'ok.' Spoken from a person who thinks 9 out of 10 basic cable movies awesome....Ha!

    Hope you get better soon!

  11. I really liked the new N.O.E.S. movie surprisingly enough. I thought that Jackie Earle Haley made Freddy really menacing, and the film itself didn't include a ton of things that make most modern horror films terrible.

I feel like it's getting a really bad rap from those with the "nostalgia effect, AKA, nothing compares to the original." Oddly enough, it seems like a lot of people are falling into that nowadays, oh well.

Get better man, I had the flu a month or so ago, and it sucks. :(

  13. Saw the new Nightmare on Elm Street last night and loved it.

Can't figure out why it's getting bad reviews unless it's from people who are comparing it to the original. I'd never seen a Freddy Kreuger movie so I went in with a fresh slate and I really really liked it.

I'm not too sure about the new Nightmare on Elm Street myself. I'm turned off to certain movies when it is filled with actors/actresses that seem to be ripped from the pages of a fashion magazine just to attract more audience to drive ticket sales instead of casting normal looking people, preferably unknown acts. As for the guy who is playing as Freddy, I enjoyed him as Rorschach in last years The Watchmen.

  15. I really didn't enjoy Darksiders at all... just couldn't get into it. I suppose I'll have to give it another try after all of your enthusiasm.

I didn't know people in the US watched Dr Who! lol

I hope you guys agree that Matt Smith is doing a better job than David Tennant. Not that Tennant was bad, he just wasn't for me.
