For the next few weeks anyway- perhaps beyond- I'll be in Twitter mode only.
So busy with the game these days that I just don't have the energy/desire to do the blogging thing.
Our EAT SLEEP PLAY website should be up soon and I'll be doing blogging from there and I'll let you know when it hits.
But for now, I'll be tweeting several times/day (if not more)...it's the perfect way to communicate with folks who dig our work without taking away energy from the work itself!

Aww, I'll miss the blog... but I think the more pressing matter is finding out what you're working on/getting it in my hands. Probably a good decision to stick to Twitter for a while.

I firmly believe that blogging is dead all thanks to Twitter. Lately, rather for a long while, I haven't been in the mood to read blogs that are too long. I simply get bored. Video blogs are different as it feels personal to the viewer. But whatever happens, Jaffe, I'll be there. I can't wait to hear what the new game is from you guys/gals at Eatsleepplay.

Man, its pretty funny. I first started reading this blog because I thought it would be cool to view blogs from a high profile video game developer. That's now like the last reason why I come here - now its because you can write some damn good blogs that are not only interesting to read, but thought provoking as well. So I've gotta say, kind of bummed that the site won't be updated much anymore, but I understand your reason - good luck Jaffe, and I look forward to playing whatever you and the guys at Eat Sleep Play have hidden up your sleeve. @anon: That's your problem. If you can't respect the fact that he's busy making his game for his consumers, then I don't know what to say. Just leave. Unless you're joking, in which case; that was hilarious.
Busy with his game? What has he been doing these past years?
Obviously he's been working on the game. I don't think he's had a big team, so he can't do what Activision does with Call of Duty series with pumping them out every year or 2. A lot of work goes into this shit, and when you don't have a lot of people it just takes longer (team Ico has been working 4 years on The Last Guardian). Also, what do you mean "all these years"? It's only been a little over 2 years since his last release, just be patient.
Obviously you didn't say the words "all these years", but you made it sound like he's taking too long on this game. That's simply not true.
If I may:
we put out Calling All Cars in 2007.
We put out Twisted Metal: HEAD ON Extended Edition last year. That game had 4 brand new levels and tuning that needed designing as well and tons of behind the scenes stuff. And yes, we are a small team.
And we've been working on our new PS3 game for about 15 months now, give or take.
Not to mention, we've had to staff up the company and the team has had to build tons of new tech. It ain't making eggs and toast...this shit takes time.

I signed up for twitter when I read this because I enjoyed your blog so much (username: crashazard)...but I'm honestly not feeling that site very much. They must have hired a chimp to do their interface design. Haha.
Of course, it's completely understandable if you're busy and can't keep something "extra" up like a blog. It's for fun man, and the readers like it to be something you do for fun, not as a chore :P ...so no worries.
