I am so fried...

...just thought I'd share. Between full time on the end movies, full time on the game, being a dad, trying to work out 4-5 times a week, and just live life, I think I'm officially spent.

Plus I have little headaches these days cause I'm getting very little sleep AND I'm trying to cut back DRASTICALLY (again) on the diet Cokes (evil motherfucking brew). So yeah, I'm a mess.

Not to complain- I have an amazing life, an amazing job.

But FUCK! I need a break! When this game is over I'm taking 1-2 weeks off and going to Hawaii or NYC or some such.

Ok, just venting!

Gonna go pop some popcorn, watch some movies (Costner's Open Range, Demme's Manchurian Candidate) , and veg.

Talk soon ya'll! I promise I'll get back to mega regular blog updates. Just honestly have had little to talk about as of late cause all my life is is TM (which I can't talk too much about).

Ok- later!

Well, I'm glad you're alive and well. Keep up the good work! I truly love/d Twisted Metal 2 (never played 1), TM: Black, and God of War. Some of my favorite games ever! No matter what, I don't think I'll ever dislike you or your games. I admire you.

Thanks for all the hard work! I'm sure your coworkers and family are very appreciative of your efforts. And thanks from this fan who's eagerly awaiting your next game ^_^

not gonna lie, one of the best decisions I've made was cutting out all sodas. Haven't had one in a year. I feel soo much better than I used to.

I'm a game designer like you, and I'm working 15 hours a day for all days of a week. I want to be like you, someday..., maybe not so soon. You are one of my heroes and I'm trying so hard to create games like yours.
Here is one of my fails, and also the first one:
It's the first game of our indie team and my first experience in game designing field.
I will be really happy to hear any advice from you, maybe only a word.

P.S: Sorry about my poor English.

Thanks for your time,
-Hossein Hosseinian. (

Thanks David for being passionate about your work, not enough people in creative industries truly have a drive and passion to make the best possible product for people.

You're definitely one of a kind and for the love of god, eat healthier! Drop the soda, go to Whole foods and pick up some tasty and fresh fruit juice, and some healthy food!

It's comforting to know that even the great david jaffe has those moments of weakness. It is my dream to be a game developer one day and I feel that kind of doubt ALL the time when working on projects, there's times where i feel that an idea I have is amazing but after tweaking and working on it for awhile it seems that it's no good and I was crazy for ever thinking it was BUT you work through that and that's part of what sets a good artist from a bad one. And I gotta say, in the long run, i think it's actually a good thing to second guess yourself sometimes. It keeps you from becoming complacent which is far worse than feeling pressured or worried, you're truly an inspiration Jaffe. Sorry for the huge post, keep on keeping on brother.
